Fediverse Analytics: Statistics, Reach and Growth
The Fediverse has no central place that tells you how your posts perform. FediSuite connects your accounts, imports your history and turns it into statistics you can compare across accounts and platforms.
- Platforms
- 20+, from Mastodon to PeerTube
- Reach
- Estimated, with an open method
- License
- GPL-3.0, self-hostable
- Cost
- Official instance is free
Where Fediverse statistics come from
Each instance shows you a few counters on single posts, at best. If you run one account on mastodon.social, one on a Pixelfed instance and one on PeerTube, you end up counting by hand. A history over weeks does not exist anywhere.
FediSuite queries your accounts through their APIs, imports existing posts in the background and refreshes the counters regularly. Your analysis starts with your whole history instead of zero.
The statistics you get
The analysis covers the numbers that help you plan the next post:
- Follower growth over time, per account
- Favourites, boosts and replies per post, and the engagement derived from them
- Hashtag analysis with frequency, engagement and combinations that work
- Posts with and without media, with and without a link, by length
- The posts with the highest reach in the selected period
Estimating reach instead of inventing impressions
The Fediverse does not deliver impressions across instance borders. FediSuite estimates reach from what is visible: the followers of your account, the followers of accounts that boosted a post, and the visible boosts. The result is a net and a gross reach.
That is a model, not a measurement, and the method is documented openly. The reach estimate exists for Mastodon and compatible platforms. More on the reach analysis page.
Tips from your own data
The tips in FediSuite compare periods, show the numbers behind them and suggest a next test. They point out correlations in your account, not proof. Without enough data there is no tip.
Several accounts and platforms in one analysis
Mastodon, Pixelfed, Friendica, Misskey and its forks, Pleroma, Akkoma, GoToSocial, PeerTube, Loops, vutuv and more can be connected. Estimated reach is available for Mastodon and compatible platforms. Which interactions and growth figures are available depends on each platform and instance API.
Frequently asked questions
What is Fediverse analytics?
It means analyzing accounts in the Fediverse: follower growth, interactions, reach and posting times. Because every instance only knows its own counters, you need a tool that collects the data and compares it over time and across accounts. FediSuite is such a tool.
Can you measure reach in the Fediverse?
Exact impressions do not exist across instance borders. FediSuite estimates reach from followers and boosters and labels it clearly as an estimate.
Which platforms does FediSuite analyze?
More than 20, including Mastodon, Pixelfed, Friendica, Misskey, Pleroma, Akkoma, GoToSocial, PeerTube, Loops and vutuv. Estimated reach covers Mastodon-compatible platforms; other metrics depend on the platform API.
Does FediSuite cost anything?
The official instance app.fedisuite.com is free according to the website. FediSuite is licensed under GPL-3.0 and can be self-hosted with Docker.
Are there trackers or ads?
FediSuite contains neither trackers nor ads. If you want full control over the data, run your own instance.
